Why Am I Here?

Why are we here?

What is the purpose of life?

Abraham (Ester and Jerry Hicks) says "The purpose of life is joy."

That is fairly simple, or is it?

Personally I use the word happy or happiness more than joy but really they mean the same thing.

If this is the purpose of life we just need to identify what makes us happy and work really hard to achieve that. So I will be happy when I get my dream job or meet my soul mate or buy my perfect home or become a millionaire...........................

The list could go on and the "goals" are different for each of us but once we reach our goal we will be happy!!

Right?

Wrong!!

Why Am I Here?
Why Am I Here?

I have come to realise that we must find happiness in the moment regardless of our current circumstances, regardless of our bank balance, regardless of our marital status, regardless of our house or living situation.

Don't worry I can hear you...."I can't be happy in this house, with this person, without a partner, with no money, doing this job..........."

I was the same, I was working towards firstly identifying what I actually wanted (which can be a challenge in itself) and then setting goals, making plans and working towards that achievement that would bring me happiness.

Then I had a light bulb moment. That light build moment came after I really explored and answered “what am I here?” I knew I was here to be happy, to experience joy, to live life!! I needed to find a way to be happy now, right now, regardless of all those other factors. Happiness, real happiness will come from moments of happiness. Often moments of simple happiness.

A truly happy life will be lived not by the one with the biggest house or the most money but by the person who has been able to put the most moments of happiness together.

A moment of happiness (usually achieved by small things) followed by more moments of happiness will make a minute of happiness. A minute of happiness followed by more minutes of happiness will make an hour of happiness and an hour of happiness followed by more hours of happiness will make a day of happiness and so on until you are living it. A HAPPY LIFE!!!!

I want each and every one of us to be happy, to live a happy life. To be able to look back in years to come and say "Wow, I have lived a happy life."

When you think “Why am I here?” Maybe answer it yourself, “I am here to be happy.” Then ask yourself “What will help me achieve happiness in this moment?” And remember, happiness is the small things, the somethings seemingly insignificant. It is these things that add up to form a happy life.
